The active substances Botox® and hyaluronic acid are well known to those seeking facial rejuvenation and wrinkle treatments. But when is Botox® actually used?
Botox® has proven particularly effective in treating so-called expression lines (also known as dynamic wrinkles). These include forehead lines, frown lines, glabellar lines, nasal lines (bunny lines), and crow’s feet. Botulinum toxin can also be used gently to reduce wrinkles in the chin, neck, and décolleté area. In addition, Botox® may also be used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and severe headaches (migraine).
The active substances Botox® and hyaluronic acid are well known to those seeking facial rejuvenation and wrinkle treatments. But when is hyaluronic acid used?
For deeply etched wrinkles (such as nasolabial folds), hyaluronic acid is often used as a filler. Hyaluronic acid treatments can also be used to restore volume to areas of the skin that have lost fullness over time. The effects of hyaluronic acid injections are typically visible for three to six months.
Mesotherapy, as a complementary medical treatment, targets the middle layer of the skin (from the Greek mésos = middle) to inject plant-based formulations—often containing vitamins and trace elements—with various active ingredients to stimulate the body’s natural repair processes. The skin stores these substances and distributes them via the bloodstream to where they are needed. In addition, mesotherapy can help strengthen the body’s immune defenses and improve microcirculation.
This method can be used to treat acute and chronic pain, joint and spinal conditions, as well as sports injuries and overuse-related issues. Very good results are also seen in cases of fatigue and sleep disorders, headaches, migraines, infections, and respiratory conditions.
Furthermore, mesotherapy offers an alternative to conventional aesthetic treatments, as individually tailored formulations can also activate skin-rejuvenating processes. As a result, the overall appearance and structure of the skin improves due to increased blood circulation and new collagen formation. The skin appears visibly rejuvenated, firmer, and healthier. In addition, connective tissue weakness, hair loss, stretch marks, cellulite, and acne can also be successfully treated with mesotherapy.
